Kaitlyn Hui

I am a textile designer with a focus in knitwear and apparel. I am currently located in New York City. I received my BFA in Textile Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. 

While knitwear makes up the core discipline of my creative practice, I take a holistic approach when it comes to design. This allows me to design with intent, led by process and experimentation while also focusing on material as a means of storytelling.

Often times my creativity first stems from poetry. It is a language that bridges the dialect of my mind to my reality. It is a conversation that is expressed in the form of textile matter, prints, stitches, and silhouettes. My work aims to translate that conversation into sensation and emotion.
